Education Alliance with Faron Hollinger

In today’s educational environment when you speak or write about No Child Left Behind, or NCLB, you generally get the immediate and undivided attention of some, if not most educators.  Coming at a time of wide public concern regarding the quality of education in our nation’s public schools, the NCLB Act of 2001 introduced rigorous academic standards for the measurement of student achievement and holding states and schools accountable for their academic progress.  Given the scope and detail of NCLB, it continues to be the source of considerable controversy and debate within the educational community.  However, amid strong differences of opinion regarding the content and methodology contained within the act, overwhelming consensus exists for the right of all children, regardless of their ethnic differences, range of ability, or their individual circumstances, to receive equitable and appropriate educational services and not be left behind in the process.

As Christians, it is comforting to know that our heavenly Father has even greater concern for the growth, development and ultimate well-being of His children.  He recognizes our individual differences, our circumstances, and He knows every disadvantage we have or will experience.   He offers to each of us a uniquely designed and prepared plan that will insure our productivity and success no matter where we are in our journey of faith:

“But the godly will flourish like palm trees and grow strong like the cedars of     Lebanon….Even in old age they will still produce fruit: they will remain vital     and green.”—Psalm 92:12-14 (NIT)

How encouraging to know that He desires the very best for us and that through His power, authority, and provision no child of His need be left behind in the process.

This Week’s Quote:
“God measures people by the small dimensions of humility and not the bigness of their achievements or the size of their capabilities.”
--Billy Graham
